Make no mistake, Virginia Beach, this is about us. This is about every financial and residential development erected in our city. With the recent revelation that the city’s drainage plans were left up to developers, this plays hand in hand with the resulting flooding you now see even in a moderate rainstorm.
We MUST act locally to hold accountable developers and to protect our infrastructure. I welcome small business and stand beside every working person trying to live, but decades of slashing taxes for multi-million and multi-billion corporations and letting them do what they want has led us into the soggy situation we’re in currently.
The infrastructure of the city is for the good of its citizens, not for faceless entities.
